Greek National Road

For the purposes of surveying the horizontal and vetrical signage along the National Road Thessaloniki-Moudania, a survey was carried out through technological advancement. A combination of ground and aerial surveying was performed using UAV, GNSS receivers and a 360° camera.

GCPs were placed with the use of GNSS receiver and the consecutive flights were carried out followed by ground scanning filming 360° video for the purposes of signage verification.

The output of the flight data was a point cloud, an orthomosaic and a dsm, where the signage was digitized, as also the road deck, the lighting columns, safety bars etc.

Finally a Video was created in which the Nation Road is presented through the ground recording of 360° video, the point cloud as well as the location of points at a map with base layer imagery.
